जल में मिल कर नहीं,
जग को
जल के तल तक, भेज कर
उस पर
ऊपर रहना चाहता है।
जल में मिल कर नहीं...!
हे मानी, प्राणी!
पानी को तो देख,
और अब तो
पानी-पानी हो जा...!
हे प्रमाण प्रभो!
मान का अवमान कब हो ?”
और, माटी की
देशना की धारा अभी टूटी नहीं
फिर भी!
अभिधा से हट कर
व्यंजना की ओर गति है उसकी, कि
बीज का वपन किया है।
जल का वर्षण हुआ है।
बीज अंकुरित हुए हैं।
और
कुछ ही दिनों में
फसल खड़ी ही लहलहाती
बाल वाली...अबला...सी...!
पर,
हिम ही नहीं
हिमानी - लहर भी
कुछ ही पलों में
उस पकी फसल की
Without being mixed up with the water,
Having drowned the world
Up to the bottom of the water,
Tries to live
Up and above it
Not mingling with the water...!
O thou arrogant being !
Do have a look at the water,
And, even now,
Be much ashamed of thyself...!
O Lord, the Umpire !
When is the pride to go disrespected ?”
And, by the Soil,
The flow of precepts was not yet broken,
Because, now,
Having departed from the literal meaning
She moves towards suggesting the sense, that
The seed has been sown
The rain has fallen
The seeds have sprouted.
And
Within a few days
The harvest stands blooming -
With awns,...like a frail woman...!
But,
Not only the frost
The cold wave too,
Within some minutes -
To that ripened harvest -
