फिर भी
कभी-कभी वह नाव
घबराती है।
और वह घबराहट
न ही जल से है।
न ही जल के गहराव से,
परन्तु
जल की तरल सत्ता के विभाव से है।
जो
जल की गहराई को छोड़ कर
जल की लहराई में आ कर
तैरता हुआ-सा...!
अध-डूबा
हिम का खण्ड है।
मान का मापदण्ड...।
वह
सरलता का अवरोधक है।
गरलता का उद्बोधक है।
इतना ही नहीं।
तरलता का अति शोषक है।
और
सघनता का परिपोषक!
न तैरना जानता है।
और
न ही तैरना चाहता है।
खेद की बात है, कि
तरण और तारक को
डुबोना चाहता है वह।
जल पर रहना चाहता है।
पर,
Nevertheless
That boat, now and then,
Gets confused,
And that confusion
Is caused neither by water
Nor by the depth of water,
But
It is due to the bad sense of liquid sway of water,
Which
Having set aside the depth of water,
And, on being caught into the rolling waves,
Remaining afloat...!
Half-sunk,
Is a lump of Snow-
A measuring-rod of pride....
It is a sharp deterrent to candidness
An awakener of poisoning,
Not only this much,
A hard exploiter of humidity
And
A cherisher of density !
Neither does it know swimming
And
Nor does it wish to swim,
It's a matter of grief, that
It is desirous of drowning
The boat as well as the saviour.
It wishes to float upon the surface
