परन्तु, भूल कर भी
फूलते नहीं तुम!
माटी-सम
तुम में आती नमी ना
क्या यह तुम्हारी
कमी ना ?
बता दो रे कमीना!
तुम में कहाँ है वह
जल-धारण करने की क्षमता ?
जलाशय में रह कर भी
युगों-युगों तक
नहीं बन सकते
जलाशय तुम!
मैं तुम्हें
हृदय-शून्य तो नहीं कहूँगा
परन्तु
पाषाण-हृदय अवश्य है तुम्हारा,
दूसरों का दुःख-दर्द
देख कर भी
नहीं आ सकता कभी
उसे पसीना
है ऐसा तुम्हारा
...सीना।
फिर भी
ऋषि-सन्तों का सदा
सदुपदेश - सदादेश
हमें यही मिला, कि
पापी से नहीं
पर! पाप से,
पंकज से नहीं
But, even by mistake,
You don't get bloomed up!
You don't catch dampness
As the Soil does,
Isn't it
Your deficiency ?
Tell me, O thou mean fellow!
Where is there within you
That capacity of sustaining water ?
While staying into a water-tank
You can't become
Yourself a drift to water,
For centuries !
I won't tell you, really,
To be heartless;
But
You are surely stone-hearted,
Your chest holds likeness...
To that of the one
Who can never
Sweat itself out
In spite of beholding
Others in trouble and pain !
Even then,
The preachings and precepts
Of Sages and Saints always
Communicated us, indeed, that-
Hate the sin
But, not the sinner,
Hate the mire
But, not the lotus
