दुसरे दुःखित न हों
मुख पर घूँघट लती हूँ
घुटन छुपाती-छुपाती
...घूँट
पीती ही जा रही हूँ,
केवल कहेने को
जीती ही आ रही हूँ |
इस पर्याय की
इति कब होगी ?
इस काया की
च्युति कब होगी ?
बता दो, माँ...इसे !
इसका जीवन यह
उन्नत होगा, या नहीं
अनगिन गुणों पाकर
अवनत होगा, या नहीं
कुछ उपाय करो माँ !
कुछ उपाय हरो माँ !
और सुनो,
विलम्ब मत करो
पद दो, पथ दो
पाथेय भी दो माँ !”
फिर,
कुछ क्षणों के लिए
मौन छा जाता है-
दोनों अनिमेष
एक दूसरे को ताकती हैं
धरा की द्रष्टि माटी में
माटी की द्रष्टि धरा में
To let the others not feel troubled
I draw the Veil over my face
Having Suppressed the Suffocation,
... The draughts
I do go on Sipping,
And, am living up nominally only
The So-called life !
When would this life-order
Come to an end ?
When Would this embodiment
Be dropped out ?
Tell it to her, O Mother…!
This life of hers
Would evolve, or not
Having unfolded so many Virtues
Would decline, or not
Give some remedy, O Mother !
Repair the damage Thyself, O Mother !
Listen to me, O Mother !
Make no delay
Show the steps, the path
The provisions too for the journey !”
Then,
For Some moments
The silence prevails-
Both of them, unwinkingly
Stare at each other
The eye of the Earth into the Soil
The eye of the Soil into the Earth
