आ सकती हैं कि
थोड़ी-सी प्रतिकूलता में
जिसकी समता वह
आकाश को चूमती थी
उसे भी
विषमता की नागिन
सूँघ सकती है...
और, वह राही
गुम-राह हो सकता है;
उसके मुख से फिर
गम-आह निकल सकती है।
ऐसी स्थिति में
बोधि की चिड़िया वह
फुर्र कर क्यों न जाएगी ?
क्रोध की बुढ़िया वह
गुर्र कर क्यों न जागेगी ?
साधना-स्खलित जीवन में
अनर्थ के सिवा और क्या घटेगा?
इसीलिए
प्रतिकार की पारणा
छोड़नी होगी, बेटा !
अतिचार की धारणा
तोड़नी होगी, बेटा !
अन्यथा,
कालान्तर में निश्चित
ये दोनों
आस्था की आराधना में
विराधना ही सिद्ध होंगी !
एक बात और कहनी है
की
May come across that,
Under a little of adverseness,
The One, whose equanimity,
Kissed the skies-
Even he too
May be sniffed...
By the female-serpent of inequality
And that way-farer
May get distracted from the path;
He may heave
A sigh of pain, then.
In such a state
Why that ‘Bird of Enlightenment’
Won't flutter away ?
Why that Old Woman of Anger
Won't grumble away ?
What else except mishap would occur
In a life of faltering devotion?
Hence,
The refreshment of retaliation
Will have to be given up, dear Child
The retention of irreligious conduct
Will have to be revoked, dear Child
Otherwise
After a gap of time, certainly,
Both of these
Shall prove to be an annoyance
In the adoration of Faith !
