 उसने कहा-
 जीवन में 
 एक चित्र ऐसा बनाना
 कि जिसमें सब ओर
 खुला आकाश हो
 कि अपनी सीमाएं
 स्वयं निर्धारित करता 
 कोई महासागर हो,
 कि अपने ही बनाये 
 किनारों के बीच
 बहती नदी हो,
 कि अपने ही हाथों
 अपना सर्वस्व लुटाता
 एक वृक्ष हो 
 और समूचे आकाश को 
 अपने गीतों से 
 भर देने वाली 
 कोई चिड़िया हो,
 जरूर बनाना 
 जीवन का ऐसा चित्र,
 जिसमें जीवन और जगत के बीच
 सीधा सम्बन्ध हो !

 Paint a canvas
 With borers of the sky;
 A sea endless
 In its own making;
 A tree that gives away
 With both hands
 Its tree-life;also
 A bird filling the sky
 With its own swet singing.
 Please do make
 A painting of life
 Linking the universe
 Of life’s heartbeat.
