सुबह की तलाश
 कई बार सोचा
 कि सुबह होते ही
 पक्षियों का
 मधुर गान सुनूंगा !
 कि सुबह होते ही
 उगते सूरज
 खिलते फूल 
 और बहती नदी का
 सौंदर्य देखूंगा !
 किसी वृक्ष के नीचे
 शीतल शिला पर
 अपने में मगन होकर बैठूंगा !
 पर अपने ही 
 मन के मलिन अँधेरे में 
 अपने ही जीवन के 
 आर्त स्वरों में
 और अपने ही बनाये बंधनों में
 घिरा सिमटा में
 सुबह की तलाश में हूँ !

In Search of meaning
 Often I thought that
 I would listen to the birds
 When they sing at dawn.
 That I would
 Watch the rising Sun,
 Watch the flawer as it blossoms,
 Watch the river’s liveliness
 As it flows by.
 And I thought I would sit
 Under a tree on a rock
 And go deep in my own soul.
 But lost in the darkness
 Of my own dark mind,
 Lost in the distresses sounds
 Of my own mean life,
 Lost in the fetters
 Of my own making,
 I am looking still
 For that morning.
